Lillo's started with a Jersey conviction: bring Trenton-style tomato pies and real cheesesteaks to New York City. It took root in Forest Hills, Queens, and hasn't stopped since.

The pie that started it

Trenton-style tomato pies have their own distinct tradition — sauce on top, cheese underneath, a cracker-edged crust built for the bite. One Bite reviewers called Lillo's tomato pie as good as, or better than, the famous Trenton originals like Delorenzo's and Papa's.

Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports scored it a 9.1, and guests consistently call it one of the best cheesesteaks in Queens — the kind of sandwich that earns a return visit.

Lillo's now runs in Forest Hills, Queens, Hainesport, NJ, and Gloucester City, NJ — each location carrying the same Jersey-rooted spirit. The mural on the wall says it plainly: New York energy, New Jersey soul.
